It is was so much fun gettting back to performing magic at a garden party.
Yes, I have introduced a Zoom magic show during these rather testing times. I’ll look back at this blog in several years time and be amazed at what happened and how we coped.
Performing magic at a garden party
However, nothing compares to the real thing. We are slowly easing up on the lockdown process and are allowed to visit gardens. It’s such a pleasure to be able to perform the art that I love again. I had almost forgotten how to do some moves which was a big lesson. Keep practising even though you have done the moves for years!
I don’t think magic on a computer such as in the form of Zoom will ever replace the real thing. There something special about the interactions with people. The reactions when magic is performed live and the banter are not things that can be replaced on a screen.
What people say
I performed for an 18 year birthday celebration very recently in Maidenhead. It was a small gathering obviously but the mum was concerned her son was going to have a very quiet un-memorable 18th birthday.
She wisely organised a garden party with myself as the close- up magician as well as hiring a singer to add to the festivities. I might add a neighbour had alo offered to make the rum punches, which were delish!
Charmian, the mother of the birthday boy, sent me this review later that week. ‘Ian lit up my sons 18th birthday lockdown Garden party. All my teenagers enjoyed his entertainment, repartee and fabulous magic tricks. He certainly captivated his audience. Highly professional and reliable, I would highly recommend Ian and his amazing magic.’ Holyport, Maidenhead.
If you feel you have missed out on summer and social interactions, then book me for a garden party to get some festive summer fun!
